The long awaited release of the third Shakespears Sister album has finally arrived. The album is in it's full glory as intended back in 1996. The sleeve features artwork by Sara Lucas and the full, mastered 10 track album. Following years of legal wrangles & fan petitions, the third SS album finally rears it's head, eight years (yes eight!) later than it's scheduled release. On hearing the line "You're a living legend in your head, you're SO Rock'N'Roll", throughout the anthemic opener Go, it does'nt take a genius to work out there was no love lost between Siobhan & former member Marcella Detroit, & it becomes apparent early on, there's more than a few scores to settle here. Fahey's approach to her professional(Detroit) & personal(Dave Stewart) divorces are dealt cleverly with a bitter tongue firmly in cheek During the tragic-comedy of Oh Dear & the monologue madness of Dial F For Freedom, whilst a firm flick of the finger to her then record company London(who refused to release this album), comes courtesy of the twisted ballad I Never Could Sing Anyway . Other genius moments come in the form of Do I Scare You? (featuring the last ever recorded work from the late great Billy Mackenzie), whilst glam rockers I Can Drive & Excuse Me John give the likes of Scissor Sisters a run for their money. This 10 track masterpiece, described by Shuv as an album that "Cost me 3 years of my life, my mental health & my marriage to make", has been well worth the wait and is a reaffirmation of the true musical genius Fahey is often denied.
