Genre : Melodic Rock
A gutsy New Jersey Melodic Rock outfit that engendered quite a buzz with their independent ‘Night Dreams’ record. NORWAY was convened by lead vocalist Glenn Pierson, previously a member of MAX, and guitarist Jim Santos, both in possession of outstanding abilities soon to set the band project apart from the pack. Peirson’s vocal range particularly impressed the AOR underground. ‘Night Dreams’ was essentially a collection of highly polished demos recorded as a duo with Pierson handling vocals and keyboards whilst Santos took on guitar, bass and drums. Latter day recruits to the rhythm section in 1993, bassist Joe Slattery and LAURA DIAMOND drummer Marty Brasington, also featured on a number of tracks.
NORWAY's rhythm section could also be found backing up ex-DANGER DANGER man Ted Poley in his MELODICA outfit. Signing to the Italian Frontiers label NORWAY recorded their sophomore outing ‘Arrival’ in Manchester, England. JIM SANTOS was scheduled to be working on a solo album featuring various guest singers for 2003.
The year also brought about the unveiling of yet another new band, the 80's covers act OUT OF DANGER. Joining NORWAY personnel Joe Slattery and drummer Marty Brasington for this venture would be guitarist Steve Massa, keyboard player Laura Diamond and the former DANGER DANGER, PROPHET and BONE MACHINE vocalist Ted Poley.
During 2005 NORWAY conducted new album recordings fronted by the TRADIA, VOX, VOICES and DEPARTURE credited DAVE BALDWIN.
