Melbourne based Progressive Rock outfit VANISHING POINT initially found appreciation in Germany, debuting in 1997 with the 'In Thought' album for Angular Music. VANISHING POINTS's second album, 'Tangled In Dream' released in Europe by another German label, Limb Music Productions, would include a cover version of PINK FLOYD's 'On The Turning Away'. Live promotion included European touring flanking SONATA ARCTICA and GAMMA RAY and an appearance at the 'Wacken Open Air' festival. VANISHING POINT made such an impression on their Finnish touring partners that SONATA ARCTICA subsequently covered VANISHING POINT's 'Two Minds One Soul' song in 2004.
Keyboard player Dan Olding departed in May 2003 and the band would enlist the services of MANIC OPERA keyboard player Leonard Kopilas as they set to work on the third album 'Embrace The Silence' with producer Endel Rivers.
VANISHING POINT scored the support to NIGHTWISH's March 2005 Melbourne shows. A new album, 'Embrace The Silence', saw issue in May through Dockyard 1, the newly established label co-owned by IRON SAVIOR's Piet Sielck. VANISHING POINT parted ways with bassist Joe Del Mastro in October, bringing in former TEARGAS four-stringer Steve Cox as replacement in December.
VANISHING POINT opend for BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's September 2006 Australian dates. The group parted ways with bassist Steve Cox in December, swiftly announcing Adrian Alimic as replacement. Christian Nativo was inducted as new drummer in January 2007. VANISHING POINT secured the support slot on DRAGONFORCE's Australian tour in May.
