HinweiseGenre : Metalcore
Country : USA
Year : 2008
My Children My Bride are a Christian metalcore band from Alabama, and Unbreakable is their debut full-length. Metalcore is a genre that comes under a lot of criticism because of the lack of diversity among the vast majority of the bands. There are of course some that really stand out, but for the most part it can be tough to tell one band apart from the other.
Unbreakable has some strong points, but doesn't rise above the masses. The strength of the CD is the guitar work. There are some very clever riffs and interesting interplay between the two guitarists. In addition to the standard metalcore style and far too numerous breakdowns, My Children My Bride adds some death metal elements.
The vocals combine hardcore shouts with some death metal growls and a few gang choruses. Unbreakable is a decent debut, but My Children My Bride needs to develop a more unique sound and identity if they want to have staying power.
