RELEASE DATE: 24 May 2005
RIP DATE: 12 May 2005
South African power trio Seether are gearing up to release Karma And
Effect, their official sophomore full-length on May 24th, 2005. The
first single from the album, "Remedy," has already hit radio
airwaves and the subsequent video was directed by Dean Karr (he has
also done videos for Marilyn Manson, Dave Matthews Band).
While it has been almost 3 years since the group unleashed their
debut Disclaimer on the world, the lag time between albums was
justified. The band was all set to cut their second album in 2004
when they garnered an unexpected crossover hit in the form of their
re-recorded ballad "Broken." The new version, which was a duet
between frontman Shaun Morgan and Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee
appeared on The Punisher: The Album. The success of the song prompted
the re-release of Disclaimer in an expanded version dubbed Disclaimer
II. Furthermore, the band scrapped their recording plans and opted
for a European tour instead.
