Florence based DOMINE proudly form part of the European retro trad Metal movement. The band bowed in with an eponymous four track demo with a band unit comprising of vocalist Stefano Mazzella, guitar players Enrico Paoli and Agostino Carpo, bassist Riccardo Paoli and drummer Carlo "Funa" Funaioli. This line-up remained stable for the follow up demo sessions, 1989's 'Champion Eternal' and the 1991 cassette 'Bearer Of The Sword'. However, with a promotional tape issued in 1994, DOMINE had switched frontmen to Simone Gazzola and second guitarist Carpo had left the ranks.
Drummer Mimmo Palmiotta, formerly with the cult band DEATH SS, was enrolled for the 1997 debut album 'Champion Eternal'. DOMINE once again found themselves with a new vocalist as Morby stepped into the role. Palmiotta would appear on the ambitiously sprawling 'Dragonlord' sophomore outing but be superseded by Stefano Bonini. The record, which included an ambitious seven part suite entitled 'The Battle For The Great Silver Sword', found a ready market in Europe and would be taken up for license in the United States by Metal Blade Records. Japanese versions of the album would come with an exclusive track, a version of QUEENSRYCHE's 'Queen Of The Reich'. Morby took time out to add guest vocals to ex-HALLOWEEN guitarist ARTHUR FALCONE's solo album 'Stargazer'.
DOMINE toured Germany in early 2000 as opening act on the RIOT, ANVIL and AGENT STEEL package tour. The band would also prove industrious on the festival circuit throughout the summer with appearances at the 'Metal Gladiators 2000' event alongside GAMMA RAY and FREEDOM CALL and the 'Powermad' festival headlined by RUNNING WILD and GRAVE DIGGER.
A new album 'Stormbringer Ruler' emerged in October 2001. Japanese copies added an exclusive track, a version of the RAINBOW classic 'Stargazer'. DOMINE's 2003 record, 'Emperor Of The Black Runes', recorded at New Sin Audio Design studios in Loria, saw Japanese variants on the Avalon Marquee adding a cover of RIOT's 'Altar Of The King'.
DOMINE released its fifth album, 'Ancient Spirit Rising', in February 2007.
