Swedish Death Metal originally fronted by Ronnie Olsson, also known as Ronnie Ripper - bassist for GEHENNAH. Olsson had also issued a 1993 demo, 'Grim Clouds', from his solo Black Metal project GRINNING MOON. VOMITORY was first assembled in Forshaga during 1989, the original formation including NEZGAROTH guitarist Ulf Dalegren. Debut product would be the 1992 'Vomitory' demo cassette. Between the June 1993 'Moribund' single, issued via Swiss imprint Witchhunt, and 1997 album 'Raped In Their Own Blood' released on Fadeless Records, VOMITORY released a 1994 demo tape 'Through Sepulcharal Shadows’. Supporting the 'Blood Rapture' album VOMITORY embarked upon a ten date tour of Poland during October of 2002 co-headlining with MONSTROSITY and backed by TRAUMA, SCEPTIC, LOST SOUL, DISSENTER, and CONTEMPT.
In October of 2003 it would be learned that drummer Tobias Gustafsson had united with THE PROJECT HATE duo of guitarist Lord K and vocalist Jörgen Sandström alongside SANCTIFICATION bassist Tomas Elofsson to found an "old school" Death Metal band. Gustafsson would also lend his skills as a producer for the DISOWNED demo 'Progressive Death'.
VOMITORY's fifth album, 'Primal Massacre' recorded at Studio Kuling in Örebro with producer Henrik Larsson, was set for April 2004 release. To promote the record VOMITORY formed up part of the European heavyweight 'No Mercy' festivals commencing 29th March, sharing billing with SPAWN OF POSSESSION, HYPOCRISY, KATAKLYSM, CARPATHIAN FOREST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, PREJUDICE and EXHUMED. VOMITORY lost the services of their frontman, but by September had announced they were to persevere as a quartet. European dates scheduled for May of 2005 witnessed an alliance with EXHUMED, ROTTEN SOUND and PROSTITUTE DISFIGUREMENT. In October VOMITORY, closing a fifteen year tenure, parted ways with guitarist Ulf Dalegren. Scheduled gigs across the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Sweden, supported by Welsh act DESECRATION, in November took place as planned with Lord Kenth Philipsson of THE PROJECT HATE and GOD AMONG INSECTS acting as fill-in guitarist. The following month it was announced that VOMITORY had found their new permanent guitarist in DESPIRITED and THE LAW man Peter Östlund.
In September 2006 Animate Records announced it was to re-issue both 1996's 'Raped In Their Own Blood' and 1999's 'Redemption' on limited vinyl versions of 666 copies each. That same year Olsson was fronting a fresh side project, the groove orientated Hard Rock band TURBOCHARGED.
VOMITORY, working with producer Rikard Löfgren, entered Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad on December 3rd to begin recording their sixth album 'Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize'.
