A surrealistic Death Metal band hailing from the town of Kyminlinna. Gearing up for the release of the 2003 debut album 'Spirits And August Light', issued by the British Rage Of Achilles label, OMNIUM GATHERUM filmed a video for the track 'Writhen', directed by Ville Salonen. The clip included new keyboardist Jukka Perälä of MANITOU. That same year the OMNIUM GATHERUM credited Aapo Koivisto joined Kotka Death Metal band BREEDING CHAMBER as lead vocalist.
The band entered Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki with engineer Nino Laurenne during June of 2004 to record an album initially entitled 'Fall Grave Silence' but subsequently switched to 'Years In Waste'.
In 2004 the Progressive Heavy Metal band MANITOU, featuring both Perälä and guitarist Markus Vanhala alongside frontman Markku Pihlaja of BARABBAS and KAIHORO and the OLOS trio of bassist Ismo Laukkanen, drummer Matti Suhonen and guitarist Antti Laurén cut a debut album 'The Mad Moon Rising'. Valhala also divided his duties further between GORE PENETRATION and MALPRACTICE.
The band signed to Nuclear Blast Records in August 2004 in preperation for the album 'Years In Waste', a promotional video upfront of this release being filmed for the track 'The Fall Went Right Through Here'. The album was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki with producer Nino Laurenne and engineer Teemu Aalto then mastered at Finnvox studios in Helsinki.
OMNIUM GATHERUM, AMORAL, ELENIUM, MANITOU and KIUAS united for the November 'Dead Achilles' tour of Finland. To coincide with the 9th November release of 'Years In Waste' Nuclear Blast also re-published the band's 'Spirits And August Light' album and 'Steal The Light' EP on one CD with revised artwork and a new layout. December found the group in Pyhtää's Woodbine Garden Studios recording renditions of MEGADETH's 'Hangar 18' and DEATH's 'Suicide Machine'.
The band opened 2005 with a January package tour of Finland allied with BONEGRINDER and headliners DISMEMBER. Vanhala would also help form a one off band to back ex-IRON MAIDEN singer PAUL DIANNO for his appearance at the 'Sirkkelirock Metal Awards' on 8th January at the Tavastia club in Helsinki.
OMNIUM GATHERUM's 2005 live schedule included festival appearances at Germany's 'Party.San Open Air' in Bad Berka and Finnish events the 'Tuska' festival in Helsinki, the 'Jalometalli' festival in Oulu, the 'Dark River' festival in Karhula and the 'Räntämetalli Icehall' festival in Kouvola. The band recorded a further set of demo tracks at Woodbine Garden Studios in January 2006.
Having severed ties with Nuclear Blast Records, the band parted ways with vocalist Antti Filppu in April. The following month Jukka Pelkonen of Vantaa's ELENIUM was confirmed as new vocalist for OMNIUM GATHERUM. UK dates in September, dubbed the 'Under the Earth' tour, saw BLACK RIVER PROJECT as support upfront of an appearance at the Derby 'Bloodstock' festival.
OMNIUM GATHERUM announced signature to Candlelight Records in October. Working with producer Teemu Aalto, they would utilise Southeast Studios in Karhula during early November to cut an album title with the title 'Stuck Here On Snakes Way'. DIABLO frontman Rainer Nygård aided on guest vocals.
In April 2007 the band united with MOONSORROW, SWALLOW THE SUN and DEBAUCHERY for an extensive round of European shows.
