AGE OF NEMESIS is a Vác, Budapest Progressive Metal band that formed as NEMESIS in the summer of 1997. They released their self-titled debut album as a self-financed effort in 1998. The following year they signed a recording contract with Gula Records and their second album, entitled 'Abraxa', was released that same year. Both these opening albums gained a widespread European distribution through Periferic Records. However, on December 16th 2000 the band folded. The title NEMESIS was retained by the band's principal songwriters, guitarist Zoltan Fabian and keyboard player Gyorgy Nagy.

In April 2001 an all new line-up re-recorded both existing albums with English lyrics. US based label The Laser's Edge duly released new album 'Eden?' in September 3, 2002. Further exposure came when the track 'Eye Of The Snake' was included on the leading German magazine 'Rock Hard' cover mount CD. More success was reaped when NEMESIS was voted 'best unsigned band of 2001' by 'Rock Hard' readers.

The Hungarian language album 'Terra Incognita' saw issue in December 2002. Bass player Csaba Berczelly opted out in January 2004. Gabor Krecsmarik was drafted as replacement in time for a February support gig to URIAH HEEP. More touring that year included festival supports to QUEENSRYCHE and JUDAS PRIEST.

In August 2005 the group switched title to AGE OF NEMESIS to record the 'Psychogeist' album for Magna Carta Records. The album 'Terra Incognita' was issued in English language format, again through Magna Carta, in January 2007.
