SWORN ENEMY is a Queens based Hardcore band formed in the early nineties. Started out as MINDSET but soon changed their name to SWORN ENEMY. After two albums with independent label Stillborn they signed to major Elektra. SWORN ENEMY hooked up with the SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY and CHIMAIRA Jägermeister tour in April 2004 upfront of a brace of headliners in Puerto Rico. US gigs for July had the band partnered with FEAR FACTORY and MASTODON. However, guitarist Mike Raffinello and bassist Mike Couls both decamped in order to join AGENTS OF MAN just upfront of the band's 'Hellfest' performance. Former bassist Shawn Cox was swiftly re-instated.
The Summer of 2005 found SWORN ENEMY forming up a heavyweight billing alongside FULL BLOWN CHAOS, SCARS OF TOMORROW, WINTER SOLSTICE and AGENTS OF MAN for national US dates. Signing to Abacus Recordings, the band cut a sophomore record, 'The Beginning Of The End', at Big Fish Studios in San Diego with producer Tim Lambesis and engineer Steve Russell. Gigs across Europe throughout October and December witnessed a three band alliance with MADBALL and SINCE THE FLOOD.
2006 was opened up with US road work throughout January aligned with ANTHRAX, MANNTIS and GOD FORBID. May found the group back on the US touring circuit, this time backed up by CALIBAN, ION DISSONANCE, and EMBRACE THE END. SWORN ENEMY headed out again in June and July alongside ON BROKEN WINGS, BLACK MY HEART and NIGHTS LIKE THESE to support the album 'The Beginning Of The End'.
The group then announced "The Trendkiller" US tour commencing February 1st 2007 as an alliance with KATAKLYSM, ALL SHALL PERISH, TOO PURE TO DIE and BLOOD RUNS BLACK. That summer SWORN ENEMY entered the studio with producers Tim Lambesis and Joey Z to begin recording its new album, entitled 'Maniacal'.
