THEOCRACY, based in Athens, Georgia, is a solo, melodic Christian Metal endeavour of Matt Smith, the man handling lead and choir vocals, rhythm, lead, acoustic and bass guitars, keyboards, orchestration and drum programming for the naturally self produced eponymous debut album. Seth Filkins was added as bassist during 2004. THEOCRACY had the tracks 'The Serpent's Kiss' and 'Mountain' included on the 'ProgPower USA VIII' DVD compilation in 2007.
THEOCRACY released the album 'Mirror Of Souls', mastered by Mika Jussila, in the USA on 9th December 2008 via Nightmare Records. The Japanese version, which arrived on 25th November through Soundholic Records, contained the exclusive bonus track 'Wages Of Sin'.
"Mirror of Souls" was produced and mixed by Matt Smith and mastered by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Stratovarius, Children of Bodom). The cover was designed by Robert Wilson, and the booklet was designed by Felipe Machado Franco (Iced Earth, Ayreon, At Vance).
