Top of the Pops was an international music show for young people. The concept comes from the BBC from the UK. It was mainly current charts from the area Pop and Rock presented (mainstream). On June 20, 2006, the BBC announced that the consignment will be sold in the UK after more than 42 years due to declining audiences. The last weekly show was broadcast by the BBC on July 30, 2006, but it is still being produced as an annual Christmas special.
A collective grouping of unknown, uncredited or anonymous artists to perform covers of popular hits for the Top Of The Pops series of records, recorded 1964-2006. Most titles also being released in this time, although some were re-issued later.
The line up was not constant but did include some artists that gained fame in their own right.
